ILOILO CITY – Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño is the new Police Regional Office-6 director.
Tuaño replaced Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan.
“Effective today, Brig. Gen. Tuaño is the acting regional director of PRO-6,” confirmed PRO-6 Information Officer Major Lailyn Sencil on Friday, May 22.
Tuaño is leading the Western Visayas region consisting of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the regional capital of Iloilo.
Prior to his latest appointment, Tuaño also served as chief of the PNP Public Information Office (PIO).
Ligan was reassigned to the PNP Directorate for Operations in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Their appointments were made under Special Orders Number NHQ-SO-URA-2026-4698 dated May 20.
Ligan was at the helm of PRO-6 for less than a year. Ligan was tapped to the position on June 20, 2025.
The date and time of the change of command ceremony are yet to be disclosed.
