- Actress Mutya Orquia headlines new "Estudyantipid" episodes under the FinEd Unboxed initiative, teaching Filipino students budgeting, saving, and scam awareness.
Mutya Orquia is set to headline new episodes of the educational series “Estudyantipid,” a student-focused program that aims to teach practical financial literacy lessons to young Filipinos amid growing concerns over online scams and poor money management habits among youth.
The new batch of episodes forms part of the FinEd (Financial Education) Unboxed initiative, a collaboration between Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. and BPI Foundation, Inc.
According to the organizers, the upcoming “Estudyantipid” episodes will focus on real-life money matters that students increasingly encounter in the digital age, including saving, budgeting, responsible spending, and recognizing online fraud and scams. The lessons will be presented through relatable storytelling intended to connect with younger audiences.
As part of the partnership, Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) learning packages will be distributed to selected schools across the country, particularly targeting underserved communities with limited access to educational resources.
The rollout of the program is scheduled to begin in July in selected schools in Iloilo and Rizal.
Representatives from both organizations recently formalized the partnership, led by BPI Foundation trustee Mary Catherine Elizabeth Santamaria and KCFI vice president Edric Calma.
The project comes as financial literacy continues to be pushed as a critical life skill for Filipino youth, especially with the increasing use of digital payment platforms and online financial services among students.
