Toyota already has a lot of hybrid models on offer. However, for those not really interested in an SUV or MPV, the choices were rather limited. Now, Toyota is giving fans of sedans more hybrid options with the addition of two new Corolla Altis Hybrid variants.
Previously, the only hybrid sedans on offer were the Camry HEV (P2.7M), Corolla Altis GR-S (P1.7M) and Ativ HEV (P1.2M).
Now, buyers can choose from new Corolla Altis HEV variants, the 1.8 E HEV CVT and the mid-grade 1.8 G HEV CVT.
1.8 G HEV
The mid-grade Corolla Altis hybrid variant comes with a few less extras than the GR-S, but still quite a lot of kit. It has a power-adjustable driver's seat, larger 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, smoked LED taillights, and a six-speaker sound system. The G model comes with leather seats, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, speed-sensing door locks, and Toyota Safety Sense.
1.8 E HEV
The 1.8 E HEV CVT serves as the entry-level hybrid model and comes with a simpler list of features and amenities. It has 16-inch alloy wheels, manual-adjustable front seats, no foglights, and only four speakers. However, it still comes with leather seats, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, speed-sensing door locks, automatic climate control, and even Toyota Safety Sense as standard.
Both variants are powered by the 1.8L 2ZR-FXE four-cylinder hybrid engine with Dual VVT-i. It delivers a combined system output of 122-PS with 142-Nm of torque and is paired with an E-CVT that drives the front wheels.
The Corolla Altis 1.8 G HEV CVT is priced at P1.602-million, while the Corolla Altis 1.8 E HEV CVT is priced at P1.489-million.
They come in a choice of colors like Platinum White Pearl Mica (+P15,000), Attitude Black Mica, and Cement Gray Metallic.
The 1.8 E HEV is technically not the base model as Toyota still offers a non-hybrid Corolla Altis; the 1.8 E, P1.213-million.
