RLC capitalizes on logistics boom, joint venture breaks ground on new Clark hub
Officials from Robinsons Land Corp., FedEx, and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority break ground on a new 15-hectare logistics hub within the Clark Freeport Zone on May 19, 2026. The built-to-suit facility aims to strengthen the Philippines' positioning in regional supply chains and cross-border e-commerce.
Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), the property development arm of billionaire Lance Gokongwei’s JG Summit Holdings Inc., has broken ground on a new large-scale logistics facility for Federal Express Corp. in the Clark Freeport Zone.
The project is being executed via RL Clark Logistix Inc., a joint venture between RLC and Asian Infrastructure and Holdings Corp., covering a 15-hectare site within the Clark International Airport complex.
Upon its targeted completion in the first quarter of 2028, the modernized gateway will feature approximately 78,000 square meters of gross floor area, substantially scaling up the global shipping giant’s existing trans-shipment hub in the region.
The expansion reflects a broader trend of logistics firms and property developers funneling capital into Central Luzon’s industrial corridors to capitalize on growing cross-border e-commerce and regional trade.
Finance Frederick Go, who attended the May 19 groundbreaking ceremony alongside Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, noted that the infrastructure expansion will deepen the country’s global connectivity and bolster domestic trade capabilities.
For RLC, the build-to-suit project provides immediate scale to its industrial portfolio through its dedicated division, Robinsons Logistix and Industrials Inc.
The company has actively diversified away from its traditional reliance on residential and retail mall developments, utilizing industrial hubs to anchor a more resilient income mix.
Cora Ang Ley, RLC senior vice president and general manager of the industrial division, stated that the partnership aligns with the developer’s long-term strategy of constructing future-ready hubs for world-class firms.
She emphasized that the Clark facility is positioned to benefit from structural shifts in global supply chains, where the Philippines is seeking a larger role in regional distribution networks.
The facility’s design incorporates several energy-efficiency initiatives, including insulated building materials, electric vehicle charging stations, and rainwater harvesting systems, with structural provisions for future solar power deployment.
Strategic oversight for the zone remains shared under a coordinated framework between the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, the Clark Development Corp., and airport operator Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp.
Mybelle Aragon-GoBio, RLC president and chief executive officer, led the organizational rollout alongside FedEx regional executives, including North and South Pacific President Masamichi Ujiie. Moving forward, the company intends to leverage this large-format footprint to attract further multinational institutional tenants to its pipeline.
