The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested two individuals linked to an organized motorcycle theft syndicate during entrapment and follow-up operations in Bulacan and Caloocan City, which also led to the recovery of a stolen motorcycle.
Authorities identified the suspects as alias “Dexter,” 28, of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, and alias “Risky,” 39, of Caloocan City, who were allegedly involved in the theft, concealment, and resale of motorcycles.
Investigation showed that the case stemmed from the theft of a Yamaha Mio Aerox owned by a 28-year-old victim who parked the motorcycle on Road 1, J.P. Rizal Street in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, at around 1 a.m. on May 14, 2026, without properly locking it.
CCTV footage later showed three suspects fleeing the area aboard two motorcycles, including the stolen unit.
Police said alias “Dexter” was arrested in an entrapment operation at the Barangay Hall of Bulac in Santa Maria, Bulacan, on May 18 after allegedly selling the stolen motorcycle for P20,000, resulting in its recovery.
A follow-up operation in Caloocan City led to the arrest of alias “Risky” and the recovery of another Yamaha Mio Aerox, a Yamaha NMAX, three detached plate numbers, four helmets, a gray long-sleeved Move It uniform, a sando, and a wig allegedly used in their operations.
QCPD said the group was operating in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces.
Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 will be filed against the suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
