The Quezon City government on Thursday, May 21, urged women residents aged 30 to 65 to undergo free cervical cancer screening as part of its observance of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.
The screening, conducted by the Quezon City Health Department (QCHD), is being held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 21 at SB Park in Barangay Batasan, Quezon City.
City health officials said the initiative aims to promote early detection and preventive care against cervical cancer, which remains among the most common cancers affecting women.
The QCHD said the disease can be prevented and treated if detected early through proper screening and timely medical intervention.
Officials added that the activity also seeks to strengthen public awareness on women’s health and the importance of regular medical checkups.
