ILOILO CITY – Malacañang has allocated P344 million for scholars and facility projects in all 1,721 barangays in Iloilo province.
Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. and Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial Federation President Amalia Victoria Debuque met this week to prepare for the distribution of funds.
Dubbed “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang," the funding is part of the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) prioritized by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Each barangay will receive P200,000 – P100,000 for five college students and P100,000 for projects such as street lights or water pumps.
Defensor and Debuque plan to distribute the financial assistance on July 19 during the Iloilo Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay Day.
The Iloilo Provincial Board unanimously approved the Defensor administration’s decision to sign the agreement with the Office of the President.
