President Marcos has commended Guinness World Record holder Claro “Lito” De Veterbo, the fastest person to cross the Philippines on foot.
Marcos welcomed De Veterbo at Malacañan Palace on May 20.
During the courtesy call, the President recognized De Veterbo's remarkable achievement as the fastest person to cross the Philippines on foot from Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte to Glan, Sarangani.
According to Malacañang, the President also highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and responsible tourism advocacy through De Veterbo's "leave no trace" mission.
The Guinness World Records organization recognized De Veterbo as the fastest person to cross the country in October last year.
He crossed the country on foot in 147 days last year.
