The Malabon City government celebrated the city’s 427th founding anniversary by delivering free public services directly to residents through the Walang Tulugan Serbisyo Caravan on Thursday, May 21.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said the activity is part of the city government’s commitment to make health and social services more accessible to Malabueños.

“Ang tunay na diwa ng pagdiriwang ng ating Anibersaryo ng Pagkakatatag ay ang pagsiguro na bawat Malabueño at bawat tahanan ay patuloy na uunlad at mapapanatili ang mabuting kalusugan (The true spirit of celebrating our founding anniversary is ensuring that every Malabueño and every household continues to progress and maintain good health),” she said.

“The government aims to bring services closer to the people. We will continue to ensure that every Malabueño has access to the healthcare and social services they need,” Sandoval added.

The mayor said the caravan also aligns with the city’s Pag-Ahon agenda, particularly its free health services program under the Lucky 9-Point Agenda.

During the caravan, residents received free medical and dental consultations, dental extraction, blood pressure and vital signs monitoring, BMI determination, Vitamin A supplementation, deworming, diet counseling, family planning counseling, ECG, HIV testing and counseling, mobile X-ray and ultrasound services, and basic medicines.

The caravan also offered Yakap registration, birth certificate assistance through the Civil Registry help desk, free legal consultation, and services from the Public Safety and Traffic Management Office help desk.

Residents also availed themselves of mobile shower, laundry, water station, charging services, and hot meals through the Malabon Mobile Services.

Free haircut, pedicure, and massage services were likewise provided through the City of Malabon Polytechnic Institute.

Sandoval said the city government will continue programs that promote healthcare access, social protection, and better quality of life, especially for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, solo parents, and families in need.

City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said Malabon’s founding anniversary also highlights unity and people-centered governance.

“Sa pagdiriwang ng ika-427 taong pagkakatatag ng Malabon, patuloy nating ipinapakita na ang tunay na pag-unlad ay nararamdaman kapag ang serbisyo ng pamahalaan ay direktang nakakarating sa mamamayan (In celebrating the 427th founding anniversary of Malabon, we continue to show that genuine progress is felt when government services directly reach the people),” he said.

Founded in 1599, Malabon was part of the province of Rizal before it became an independent municipality.

It was later converted into a highly urbanized city in 2001 and is now known for its cultural heritage, resilient communities, and strong sense of unity among residents.
