Gunman of Isabela City LGU worker nabbed

ABELLA

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A man on the most wanted list was arrested by Basilan authorities for the murder of an Isabela City government worker on Wednesday, May 20.

The suspect, identified as Joel Buenbrazo Abella, 49, was apprehended during a law enforcement operation by the Isabela City police.

Abella was tagged as the fifth most wanted person on the municipal level and reportedly faces charges for murder and frustrated murder.

He was accused of killing Carliecel Nuena, a utility worker of the Isabela City government, while on her way to work on Wednesday, May 20.

Police are investigating the possibility that Abella is also behind the murder of Nuena’s cousin Karen Toledo- Resurreccion and another relative, Gilberto Toledo, who were killed within less than a week of each other earlier this month.
