As part of its disability support programs, the Pasig City government distributed free hearing and mobility aids to 57 qualified persons with disabilities (PWDs) to help improve their daily activities.
Beneficiaries received assistive devices such as hearing aids, prosthesis, and ankle-foot orthosis (below-the-knee and above-the-knee) during the distribution at the temporary Pasig City Hall on May 19.
Personnel from MediWalk, a healthcare provider for prosthetic and orthotic services, assisted beneficiaries during the distribution.
The local government said these would greatly help improve the beneficiaries’ hearing and mobility.
The beneficiaries were among those who submitted applications during the period opened by the city’s Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) in January 2026.
Applicants underwent a thorough verification process to ensure that they are legitimate Pasig residents, belong to the PWD sector, and have an actual need for the assistive devices.
After they were identified, assessments and measurements were conducted to ensure that the assistive devices they would receive were suited to their needs.
“Bawat assistive device na naipamahagi ay simbolo ng pag-asa, lakas, at panibagong hakbang tungo sa mas komportableng araw-araw na pamumuhay (Each assistive device distributed is a symbol of hope, strength, and a new step toward a more comfortable daily life),” the MediWalk said.
The local government said that through this PDAO program, the Pasig City Government continues to promote inclusive and accessible services to better support persons with disabilities in the city and improve their quality of life.
