Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the distribution of assistance to affected residents as part of the local government’s ongoing rehabilitation and support program for fire-hit communities.
Families from Barangay Batasan Hills, Paltok, Payatas, Bagbag, Sauyo, Commonwealth, and Pasong Tamo received financial assistance.
Homeowners received P10,000 each, while renters or sharers were given P5,000 each, along with food packs and other basic relief support.
Prior to the cash distribution, the city government also provided hygiene kits, mats, blankets, food packs, and other essential items to evacuees staying in temporary shelters to address their immediate needs.
Belmonte assured continued assistance from the city government as affected families work toward recovery and rebuilding their homes, underscoring sustained support until they fully recover.
She also reminded residents to remain vigilant and strictly observe fire safety measures to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
