Mayor Isko meets PSC chief to push Rizal Memorial Stadium upgrades
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso met with Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman John Patrick “Pato” C. Gregorio in a courtesy call to discuss plans for the improvement and rehabilitation of the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
During the meeting, both officials tackled measures aimed at upgrading the historic sports complex, which continues to serve as a home for athletes and a key training ground for national sports contenders.
Domagoso emphasized the importance of maintaining quality sports facilities in the capital, noting that the Rizal Memorial Stadium plays a vital role in the development of Filipino athletes.
The partnership between the Manila city government and the PSC aims to ensure safer, well-maintained, and high-quality facilities for athletes training for local and international competitions.
Gregorio, for his part, expressed support for the initiative, highlighting the need to continuously improve sports infrastructure to better serve the country’s sporting community.
