Go get him! House members tell Marcos admin to pounce on Dela Rosa after SC ruling

House members are prodding the Marcos administration to move in and enforce the International Criminal Court's (ICC) warrant of manifestation against Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa.
This, after the solons got wind on Wednesday, May 20 that the Supreme Court (SC) En Banc denied the Dela Rosa camp's prayer for a temporary restraining order (TRO) and or status quo ante order to stop his arrest.
Makabayan bloc solons ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio, Gabriela Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago, and Kabataan Party-list Rep. Renee Co welcomed the high court's ruling.
"We call on the Marcos administration and all concerned agencies named in the petition, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Justice, Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Immigration, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, to immediately fulfill their obligations and ensure that the warrant is implemented without delay, cover up, or selective enforcement," the militant trio said in a statement.
"We also reiterate our call for Senator dela Rosa to surrender and face the charges against him before the ICC. He cannot hide behind political privilege, manufactured legal confusion, or the networks of impunity that protected the bloody drug war. A public official who helped implement a policy that resulted in mass killings cannot demand special treatment when he is finally made to answer," the solons said.
Dela Rosa, who is currently in hiding, is considered a wanted man by The Hague-based ICC due to his alleged involvement in drug war killings.
"This ruling is important. It affirms that attempts to block arrest through last-minute petitions and technical maneuvers should not be used to frustrate justice," the Makabayan said of the SC's decision.
Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña, in a separate statement, said the SC ruling "should be taken as a go-signal by our law enforcement authorities to undertake a full-on nationwide manhunt for international fugitive Bato dela Rosa".
"There should be no safe quarters for those with blood of thousands on their hands. Kahit ang mga nagkakanlong sa mga pugante ay dapat mapanagot (Even those coddling the fugitives must held accountable)," he said.
Echoing their stand was Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon, who in a Viber message to House reporters said it was time for authorities to implement the law in connection with the controversial senator.
"The denial of the TRO petition should now compel law enforcement agencies to coordinate for the enforcement of the international warrant against Senator Ronald dela Rosa, consistent with the position of the Solicitor General," he said.
