Cortis makes Billboard breakthrough, delivers rare global impact for rookie K-pop group
Rookie K-pop boy group Cortis is quickly emerging as one of the most closely watched new acts on the global music scene, with their second mini-album “GreenGreen” posting strong results across multiple Billboard charts just months after debut.
The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, moving 81,500 copies in the United States in its first week, according to Luminate data, underscoring strong traditional sales in a competitive market.
It also entered the Billboard 200 at No. 3 with 87,000 equivalent album units, marking Cortis’ first Top 10 appearance and an unusually strong showing for a rookie group. Billboard attributed the performance in part to more than 20 physical album variants featuring collectibles such as photocards and stickers, some randomized.
Beyond the main chart, “GreenGreen” debuted on the World Albums chart before rising to No. 1 in its second week, and reached No. 5 on Top Selling Vinyl Albums, reflecting broad physical format demand.
The group also placed at No. 5 on the Billboard Artist 100, reflecting strong overall activity across sales and streaming in the U.S. market.
Their track “RedRed” entered the Bubbling Under Hot 100 at No. 17 and climbed to No. 43 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 24 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, showing steady global streaming growth.
Cortis has also surpassed 600 million cumulative streams across its catalog and now draws more than 11.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, signaling expanding international reach.
For a group only months into its career, the results place Cortis among a small number of K-pop rookies to break into the upper tier of the Billboard 200 so early, driven by a mix of strong physical sales and growing global streaming traction.
