BACOLOD CITY – A cat suffered severe burns after hot water was reportedly poured over the feline in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Bach Project PH, an animal welfare group, slammed the abuse.
“No animal deserves to experience this kind of pain,” the group said while sharing the situation of the cat during a veterinary assessment.
The group rescued the cat which suffered third degree burns in the stomach and right leg.
“We are once again begging the public to choose compassion and kindness toward animals. If you cannot help them, please do not hurt them,” Bach Project PH said.
They have asked donations to help cover the cat’s treatment and medications.
Last year, a cat rescued by the group died from a stab wound in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
“While some may ignore stray animals, they still feel fear, suffering, and hunger just like any living being,” the group said.
