The Lexus TZ was designed under the concept of “Driving Lounge,” with the idea that the TZ will free people from everyday routines and enable new experiences and adventures.
The TZ is an elevated mobility space that seamlessly blends a relaxing cabin environment with the dynamic driving performance characteristic of Lexus. It promises driving excitement and lounge like comfort in every seat.
It is built on a dedicated platform and a simple, open cabin design create a spacious interior where all occupants can relax regardless of seating position. Lexus has also refined its signature quietness and thoroughly enhanced the vehicle's dynamic performance, aiming to deliver both the smooth ride quality unique to BEVs and the joy of driving.
While maintaining the powerful presence of an SUV, the TZ achieves top class aerodynamic performance among Lexus SUVs*, which contributes to its impressive driving range. Additionally, "Forged Bamboo", a decorative material made from Shikoku bamboo, adorns many of the interior's surfaces, supporting both sustainable craftsmanship and the preservation of traditional techniques.
The Lexus TZ is no slouch, nor city slicker. It will be offered with a battery that can give it a range of between 520-km to as far as 620-km on a full charge. Propelling it are front and rear motors that combine to produce 408-PS. It can rocket from 0-100-km in just 5.4 seconds. It can also tow as much as 1,500-kg.
The TZ is compatible with AC and DC fast charging. With 150 kW it can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in only 35 minutes.
Among some of the most notable features of the TZ are its a wide, slim, movable panoramic roof. This opens up the sky to all six passengers inside.
Even with the panoramic roof closed, the cabin can be configured to whatever mood the passengers desire with settings that adjust the TZ's audio system, ambient lighting, and other features. Designed for those that prefer to be chauffer driven, "Rear Comfort" mode* prioritizes rear seat enjoyment by using a combination of hardware and software electrification technologies
On the occasion that the owner wishes to drive, there’s an Interactive Manual Drive mode that deepens enjoyable, exhilarating interactions between driver and vehicle. Among these is an optional LFA-inspired sound package, which simulates a roaring V10 through a pair of paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. This is synchronized with sound from the surround sound system.
For now, the TZ is just a prototype. Lexus has yet to announce when it will finally be offered for sale.
