'Powerpuff Girls' voice actor Tom Kane passes away at 64

Tom Kane, who is best known for his role as the voice of Professor Utonium on the animated series "Powerpuff Girls," has passed away. According to reports, Tom passed away after suffering from complications of a stroke. He was 64.
Over the years, Tom was known for his extensive career as a voice actor for animated shows and video games. He is best remembered for his work on Cartoon Network's "The Powerpuff Girls," where he voiced the girls' father, Professor Utonium, and the devilish villain, Him. Tom was also known for voicing the Jedi master Yoda for the "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," as well as being each episode's opening narrator. Other voicenrole credits include Darwin from Nickelodeon's "The Wild Thornberrys," Lord Monkey Fist from Disney's "Kim Possible," and Mr. Herriman from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends."

Just a few months ago, an online post of Tom reuniting with the original voices of the Powerpuff girls went viral online. Fans were excited to see him with the cast, hoping they could return for a revival series or reboot. Sadly, Tom had to undergo an early retirement from voice acting due to a stroke from 2020 that left him largely unable to speak.
