No age limit for BTS fans: 65-Year-Old Filipino-American reignites love for K-pop at Stanford concert
BTS fans come in all shapes, sizes, and ages—and for many, there is truly no limit to how far that love for the group can go.
For 65-year-old Filipino-American Juliet Macabeo Bryant, that devotion only grew stronger after watching K-pop superstars BTS live once again during their “Arirang” world tour at Stanford Stadium in California on May 16.
“Concert was amazing. Ang galing talaga nila mag perform (They really performed amazingly). People are standing, screaming & singing with them. They really put on a good show. There’s really no age limit sa fans nila. At my age of 65, I’m still fangirling haha. Enjoyed every minute of the show,” Bryant told Manila Bulletin Entertainment.
Bryant attended the concert with her sister-in-law and three co-workers, marking her second time seeing BTS live. She shared that her favorite member is Jimin.
In April 2022, she also watched BTS’ “Permission to Dance on Stage” at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, further solidifying her long-time admiration for the group. She and her friends are set to travel to Nevada once again to catch BTS when they bring the “Arirang” tour to Allegiant Stadium on May 27.
At Stanford Stadium, BTS delivered a high-energy setlist that included “Hooligan,” “Aliens,” “Run BTS,” “They Don’t Know ’bout Us,” “Like Animals,” “Fake Love,” “Swim,” “Not Today,” “Mic Drop,” “FYA,” “Fire,” “Butter,” and “Dynamite.”
BTS became only the second artist to stage a concert at Stanford Stadium, following Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour” last year.
The group is scheduled to perform additional shows at the venue on May 23, 24, 27, and 28 as part of their US leg. Afterward, they will head back to South Korea for concerts at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13.
BTS is also set to bring the “Arirang” world tour to the Philippines on March 13 and 14 next year.
