Robinsons, ACMobility to deploy 500 EV charging stations nationwide

Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), the property development arm of the Gokongwei Group, signed an agreement with Ayala Corp.’s ACMobility to accelerate the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in its commercial and residential properties.
In a statement, RLC said the partnership targets the deployment of 500 EV charging stations within the year under the company’s “GoCharge” initiative that integrates these facilities across its portfolio of shopping malls, offices, hotels, residential developments, and destination estates.
RLC said the goal is to address the shortage of reliable charging options outside major urban centers.
Property developers and mobility companies in the Philippines are expanding infrastructure partnerships to encourage the adoption of low-emission transport as fuel costs fluctuate and corporations adjust to environmental, social, and governance standards.
The venture combines RLC’s national real estate footprint with ACMobility’s technical infrastructure and digital platform, including its EVRO tracking and payment application.
The collaboration comes as consumer interest in EVs increases in the domestic market, according to Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, ACMobility, chief executive officer.
The company is currently building out its regional charging network, which it refers to as the Philippine EV Spine, to support long-distance driving from Pagudpud in northern Luzon down to Pagadian in Mindanao.
Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, RLC chief executive officer, said the partnership aims to make sustainable transport more practical for commercial fleets, tenants, and retail customers while increasing the long-term asset value of the company’s real estate developments.
The GoCharge initiative functions as an open-system platform designed to accommodate various electric vehicle brands and models, incorporating network contributions from multiple local and international service providers.
Prior to the expanded arrangement with ACMobility, RLC had already increased its active charging points from 14 to 42 over a two-year period, establishing infrastructure at properties such as Opus, Robinsons Galleria, and various regional locations.
The deployment will scale up alongside RLC’s other corporate sustainability initiatives, which include investments in commercial rooftop solar installations and green building certifications.
Jericho P. Go, RLC senior vice president and the project proponent for GoCharge, said the infrastructure expansion supports broader corporate targets to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate local environmental impacts.
Following the agreement, initial deployment phases will begin at selected commercial and regional developments to establish a more interconnected transport corridor.
