Lani Misalucha on Martin Nievera: 'Sa kanya ako pinaka-komportable'

Having performed here and abroad alongside many global stars throughout her celebrated career, Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha revealed that if there’s one performer she considers her ideal stage partner, it would be none other than Concert King Martin Nievera.

During her intimate fan meet presented by Backstage MNL Digital at the Sunny 16 Cafe last May 16, Lani shared that she has always enjoyed working with Martin.

“Si Martin [Nievera], sa kanya ako pinaka-komportable kasi maraming beses na kami nagkasama on stage kaya ang tawagin namin ay partner. Masarap kasama si Martin, makulit siya,” Lani shared.

Over the years, Lani and Martin have performed several duets together on stage. According to her, Martin always brings a fun and energetic vibe whenever they work together.

“He is such a fun guy, so fun to work with. Tsaka very caring din si Martin, hindi dahil singing partner ko siya. He would make it a point to take care of me,” she added.

Over the years, Lani and Martin have built not only a strong friendship but also a solid rapport through the many performances they have shared together. According to Lani, their long history of working side by side on stage has created a sense of trust and comfort that she deeply values.

“During soundcheck, he would always check up on me, kasi nga alam niya yung sitwasyon ko. So ganun siya, the friendship and trust I have performing with Martin is something that I cherish in this career,” Lani added.

It is common knowledge that Lani continues to suffer from vestibular dysfunction, a lingering aftereffect of her severe battle with bacterial meningitis in October 2020.

The condition has caused persistent dizziness and tinnitus.

Aside from the friendships she has gained in the industry, Lani also considers her loyal supporters as one of her greatest achievements.

“My fans are my greatest achievement, kasi mapa major concert or maliit, my fans stayed with me,” Lani said.

Treating her fans like family, Lani shared that she enjoys intimate gatherings like the recent fan meet because of the relaxed and personal atmosphere it creates.

“Gusto ko yung ganito na very relaxed and casual lang with them kasi we get to talk about anything, and I can really see and feel the appreciation from them,” she added.
