- Actress Kaye Abad shocked fans dropping a vlog about her recent health scare.
Actress Kaye Abad marked her recent birthday with a revelation that she had quietly battled breast cancer over the past year.
Kaye opened up about her health journey in an emotional vlog titled “My Journey,” uploaded on the YouTube channel she shares with her husband, Paul Jake Castillo.
“This episode is very special to me. I decided to release it on my birthday,” Kaye said in the vlog. “This will explain why I’m very strict with my sugar diet, bakit ako biglang may melasma, bakit yung skin ko became darker without going to the beach, walang swimming swimming, brain fog, grabe ako ma-stress, etcetera," she began.
The actress said she did not pretend that she was not sick, but admitted that she tried to appear well for the people around her.
“To my family, my friends, my viewers, my supporters, I didn’t pretend I wasn’t sick. I just pretended to be well,” she said.
In the vlog, Kaye traced the beginning of her health scare to September 2025, when she experienced severe stomach pain that she initially thought was due to hyperacidity. After undergoing tests, doctors found multiple stones in her gallbladder, which was later removed. Her gastroenterologist then advised her to undergo a mammogram because of her age.
Kaye admitted she had long been scared of getting a mammogram because she feared what the results might reveal. But in January 2026, she finally underwent the procedure.
The results turned out to be concerning. In the vlog, her doctor explained that the mammogram findings were “really suspicious” and classified as 4C, which meant a high suspicion for malignancy. The doctor also noted symptoms such as a mass and skin retractions, as well as enlarged lymph nodes in the right axilla.
“It’s definitely, this is already an urgent matter. The sooner you address this, the better,” the doctor told her.
Kaye later consulted a breast surgeon, and she and Paul Jake decided to undergo further tests and procedures in Singapore. The actress became emotional as she prepared to leave her children, saying that being away from them was one of the hardest parts of the journey.
“The hardest part is, I’ll be away from the kids,” Kaye said while packing for the trip.
Through the uncertainty, Kaye repeatedly leaned on her faith.
“Mataas yung faith ko kay God na hindi niya ako pababayaan. God is good always. I know He's just there,” she said.
The vlog also showed Paul Jake by her side as they faced the diagnosis together. In one part of the episode, Kaye said her husband was supposed to return home the next day but decided to come home earlier after learning about her condition.
After going through the medical process, the most emotional part of the video came when Kaye shared that her doctor had already given her the words she had been waiting to hear.
“The doctor declared. She said, as of now, you can declare that you are a survivor and cancer-free,” Kaye said. “I’ve been waiting for this day.”
Kaye, who first became known as one of the beloved stars of “Tabing Ilog,” has lived a quieter life in Cebu with Paul Jake and their children in recent years. Her decision to share her diagnosis came only after reaching a hopeful point in her journey, when the doctor delivered the good news.
Fans said Kaye’s story has become a reminder of the importance of regular checkups, especially for women who may be delaying screening out of fear. In the vlog, her doctor reminded her that women 40 and above should undergo annual mammograms.
