Elderly couple killed as truck rams house in Quezon

INFANTA, Quezon – An elderly couple was killed after a cargo truck rammed their house on the Marilaque Highway in Barangay Gumian, this town, on Monday morning.
The victims were aged 70 and 74.
Investigation said that the truck’s front tire burst while traversing the highway.
The driver, 32, lost control of the vehicle which crashed into the victims’ house then turned on its side.
The victims sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The truck driver is in police custody and faces appropriate charges.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
