Malacañang has issued proclamations declaring special nonworking days in May and June 2026 in Batangas, Cagayan, Zamboanga Sibugay, Misamis Occidental, and Quezon Province to allow residents to fully participate in important historical and cultural celebrations.
Proclamation No. 1241 designates May 23, 2026, as a special non-working day in the City of Calaca, Batangas, in honor of the birth anniversary of General Eleuterio Marasigan, a great Calaqueño, patriot, and one of the leaders during the libertarian movement in the province
Proclamation No. 1242 likewise declares May 20, 2026, a special nonworking day in the Municipality of Gattaran, Cagayan, in line with its founding anniversary celebration.
The two proclamations were signed on May 7.
Marcos, through Proclamation No. 1243, declared May 18 as special nonworking day in the municipality of Naga in Zamboanga Sibugay for its founding anniversary.
The President also declared June 24 as a special nonworking day in the municipality of Jimenez in Misamis Occidental. It was declared through Proclamation No. 1245 to give way to the town's celebration of its fiesta.
Marcos likewise declared June 18 as a special nonworking day in the municipality of Patnanungan, Quezon Province for the celebration of its founding anniversary.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, by the authority of the President, signed the proclamations on May 12.
The proclamations were issued by the President, emphasizing the importance of giving local communities the opportunity to commemorate these occasions.
