BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) conferred a posthumous award to Police Master Sgt. Davy Carampatana for his courage and bravery in the line of duty.
Police Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, PRO-NIR director, awarded the “Medalya ng Kadakilaan” to Carampatana during his visit to his wake in Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Friday, May 15.
He was joined by National Police Commission (Napolcom)-NIR Director Owen de Luna and Police Col. Dennis Wenceslao, Negros Occidental police director.
"This in recognition of his courage, dedication, and sacrifice in service to the nation. His legacy of service and sacrifice will never be forgotten," the PRO-NIR said.
Cardino assured Carampatana’s family of full support, sympathy, and solidarity from the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The PRO-NIR reaffirmed their commitment to stand beside personnel and their families not only in moments of triumph but most especially in times of sacrifice and loss.
The PRO-NIR added that his courage, dedication, and selfless service will forever remain a source of inspiration to every police officer in the continuing pursuit of peace, justice, and public safety.
Carampatana was killed in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Talaptap, La Castellana on May 12.
