A total of 20 golfers will earn slots to the Superkit National Finals with the winners moving to the Grand Finals in China as the Superkit Series Philippine Tour kicks off this week with more than 170 participants set to see action in the tournament organized by the Junior Golf Foundafion of the Philippines (JGFP).
The six-leg meet will be played this weekend, with 80 players on May 16 at the Mimosa Mountain View and 90 participants on May 17 at the Mimosa Acacia. On June 7, the third leg is set at Summit Point (girls) and in Mt. Malarayat (boys), while the fourth leg is on June 27 in South Pacific (15-18) and Apo Golf in Davao (12-under), and the fifth leg is also at Apo the following day, June 28.
The sixth leg and the national finals will be announced soon.
“This is Superkit’s support to the junior golf in the Philippines. We all know that junior golf is booming not only in our country but in the world. Superkit is the No. 1 brand in the world,” said JGFP president Oliver Gan.
According to Gan, both leg winners and national finals awardees will receive trophies and prizes, Superkit golf bags for boys and girls champions, 5-wood for second placers and an umbrella for third placers.
In this second season of of Superkit Series, the categories are 5-7 years old, 8-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18 boys and girls. The 20 leg winners will play in either Pradera or Luisita, with the date to be announced.
Gan said that there will also be Order of Merit winner, as per leg champiom
will earn 100 points and $500 cash prize, $400 for the second placer, $300 for third placer, $150 for 4th-6th placers to offset the surge of oil price.
The registration fee is P6,800 for the Mimosa leg, while the other legs is P5,800, which include a Superkit cap and duffle bag.
