CEBU CITY – Five former beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Central Visayas were among the topnotchers in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
Jhade Vine Icot of Liloan, Cebu, who ranked first in the elementary level of the LET. Joining Icot were Jean Mayeth Jaca and Jashmen Pason, both from Barili, Cebu, and Niña Naneth M. Reando of Danao City, Cebu, who all ranked fifth in the elementary level.
In the secondary level, Bliss Marie Abcede of Barili was fifth.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Central Visayas (DSWD-7) said their achievements reflect the long-term impact of investing in education and human development.
Their success came after another former beneficiary of the program, Rico Elao of Alegria, Cebu, ranked first in the March 2026 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination.
Thirty-seven former 4Ps beneficiaries from Region 7 were board exam topnotchers since 2018.
Most of the topnotchers are from the LET. Other former 4Ps beneficiaries topped the licensure examinations in social work, customs brokerage, forestry, naval architecture, and marine engineering.
“The growing number of board exam topnotchers among former 4Ps beneficiaries reflects the long-term impact of investing in education and human development,” said DSWD-7 Director Shalaine Marie Lucero.
Lucero said the DSWD-7 is hoping that their achievements will “inspire not only current student-beneficiaries but also other students across the region.”
“They are proof that with determination, proper support, and opportunities, children from disadvantaged families can achieve excellence and become future leaders and professionals,” Lucero said.
