The Quezon City government is rolling out free summer programs that encourage children to step away from screens and take part in learning, sports, and creative activities during the school break.
Mayor Joy Belmonte said the initiative aims to help children continue learning, develop new skills, discover their talents, and build friendships through meaningful, screen-free engagement.
Since April, the local government has been implementing a series of programs across the city, including sports clinics, reading sessions, arts workshops, and health and wellness camps in various communities.
“Summer should not mean the end of learning. It’s an opportunity for children to develop their skills, discover their talents, and build friendships through meaningful activities,” Belmonte said.
She added that the program reflects the city government’s commitment to equal access to learning and recreation for all children, regardless of background.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to enroll their children as activities continue, with schedules and registration details available through official city platforms.
