Three suspected drug personalities, including two with previous drug-related cases, were arrested and more than P141,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized in separate buy-bust operations conducted by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on May 12.
The QCPD said the operations resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the confiscation of suspected shabu and marijuana with a total estimated value of P141,325.
Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
In the first operation, personnel of Holy Spirit Police Station (PS-14) arrested alias “Jerryvic,” 18, a resident of Matandang Balara, at around 11:35 p.m. at the corner of Luzon Avenue and Congressional Avenue in Barangay Culiat.
Police said the operation stemmed from information provided by a concerned citizen regarding the suspect’s alleged drug activities.
A poseur-buyer then purchased P200 worth of marijuana from the suspect before operatives moved in following a pre-arranged signal for his arrest.
Seized from Jerryvic were 2.77 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P4,155, three vials containing liquid marijuana weighing 55.18 grams worth P82,770, and the marked money used in the operation.
In a separate operation at around 8:30 p.m., operatives of Novaliches Police Station (PS-4) arrested aliases “Michael,” 52, and “Jerald,” 33, during a buy-bust operation at Michael’s residence in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches.
Police said eight grams of suspected shabu worth P54,400, a blue metal case, and the buy-bust money were recovered from the suspects.
Records showed that Michael had a prior drug case in April 2024, while Jerald had previous drug-related cases in April 2024 and November 2022, including violations of Presidential Decree No. 1602 and Republic Act 9165.
QCPD director Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio commended the operating units and reiterated the district’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and other criminal activities.
