The Pasay City government has deployed personnel from the Pasay Traffic and Parking Management Office (PTPMO) along J.W. Diokno Boulevard, in front of the Senate building, to help manage the traffic situation caused by the ongoing rally in the area.
According to PTPMO head Ferdinand Lee, traffic personnel have been assigned on a 24/7 basis since Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa appeared at the Senate on Monday, May 11.
Lee said the deployment was implemented to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and maintain public order amid the expected influx of rally participants near the Senate complex.
He said a total of 12 traffic personnel are deployed per shift, with operations divided into three shifts daily: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The round-the-clock deployment is being carried out daily to continuously monitor and manage traffic conditions along affected roads in the area.
Motorists and commuters were advised to temporarily avoid traversing J.W. Diokno Boulevard, particularly the Seaside IKO area and roads near the Senate vicinity, due to possible heavy traffic caused by the protest activity.
The PTPMO also announced the temporary closure of several lanes, particularly the northbound portion of Diokno Boulevard, to prevent severe congestion while the rally is ongoing.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternative routes to avoid delays and inconvenience.
Authorities said they continue to monitor the situation and are coordinating with concerned agencies to maintain peace, order, and traffic flow in Pasay City.
