Messenger held for raping minor in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Police arrested a 49-year-old messenger on Wednesday in Barangay Dalahican here for allegedly raping a minor.

Police Col. Romulo Albacea, Quezon police director, identified the suspect as Rock, the No. 1 most wanted person on the provincial level.

Rock was apprehended on warrants issued by a court here dated May 11, 2026 for statutory rape without bail and two counts of acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act with bail of P180,000 each.

Rock is in the custody of Lucena City police for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, a suspected drug pusher was shot dead on Tuesday night, May 12, in Barangay San Juan, San Pablo City, Laguna.

Police identified the victim as Carlito.

The victim’s bloodied body was discovered by a resident sprawled on the roadside. Carlito was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Barangay records showed that the victim was allegedly involved in drug peddling and theft.

Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation.
