Illegal firearms seized in Muntinlupa, Taguig operations
Police recovered firearms and ammunition from two men in separate operations in Muntinlupa and Taguig on May 13.
In Baragay Tunasan, police arrested alias Ryan, 29, after a citizen reported a man carrying a gun.
Recovered from him were a 9mm-caliber pistol without a serial number, a magazine, and two pieces of live ammunition.
He will face charges for violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) before the Muntinlupa Prosecutor’s Office.
"Every unlicensed firearm or ammunition we take off the street is a potential life saved,” said Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco, district director of the Southern Police District.
Meanwhile, in Purok 3, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, police arrested alias Jesse, 51, during a search warrant operation.
Officers seized a .38-caliber revolver with a defaced serial number and three rounds of live ammunition.
The search warrant was issued by Presiding Judge Loralie Datahan of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69.
Police are preparing charges against him for violation of Republic Act 10591.
