CAMP MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City – Police Col. Oliver Ebora was named Batangas police director vice Police Col. Meliton Salvadora Jr. on Tuesday.
Police Regional Office 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Hansel M. Marantan installed Ebora in a turnover ceremony in this camp, headquarters of the Batangas Police Provincial Office.
Marantan said a smooth leadership transition is needed to maintain good public service, effective police operations, and strong community relations.
He urged support for the new leadership of the Batangas PPO for the safer advancement of the programs and policies of the Philippine National Police focused on discipline, integrity, and professionalism for the people.
"It is expected that under the new leadership, the campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, and other threats to peace and order will be further intensified to ensure a safer community for the people. This will be accompanied by the promotion of better, responsible, and humane police services in accordance with the PNP Focused Agenda and high standards of integrity," said Marantan.
Ebora expressed full support and dedication to the implementation of PNP programs and strengthening collaboration with local governments, stakeholders, and citizens to maintain security and order in the province.
NPA arms cache
GENERAL NAKAR, Quezon – The military has unearthed an arms cache of the New People’s Army (NPA) following information from a resident in Sitio Madaraki, Barangay Umiray, this town.
Recovered were a caliber .30 rifle, a caliber .45 pistol, and an improvised shotgun.
The military said that the successful recovery highlights the importance of cooperation from local communities in preventing armed groups from regaining their capabilities.
It reiterated its commitment to sustained security operations and community engagement efforts in support of lasting peace and stability in Southern Tagalog.
