CLI diversifies into recreation with major Cebu sports venture
VisMin real estate firm Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI) is venturing into the sports and recreation business by partnering with GV Sports Facilities Corp. to develop a ₱100-million ballpark in Cebu.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, CLI said it has entered into a joint venture with Manila based GV Sports Facilities to launch Masters Ballpark by Gameville, a premier sports destination in Cebu.
“Welcome to the future of Cebu sports. The Masters Ballpark by Gameville elevates the standard for community sportsfacilities in Cebu,” said CLI Senior Executive Vice President and COO Franco Soberano.
He added that, “Through this partnership, we aim to provide athletes and enthusiasts of all levels a premium, professionally managed space where sports, wellness and community can come together.”
The partnership, to be formed under CLI Gameville Inc., combines CLI’s development expertise through CLI Sports Inc., its vehicle for sports, fitness, and recreation ventures, with GV Sports Facilities’ proven track record in operating sports complexes, including Gameville Ball Park and Gameville Central Sports Facility in Pasig City.
The partnership’s flagship development, Masters Ballpark by Gameville, is a sports and lifestyle facility designed to raise the standard of sports infrastructure in Cebu.
Set to open in December 2026, Masters Ballpark by Gameville will feature Cebu’s only twin wooden basketball courts (with one airconditioned) for rent. Both are convertible for volleyball, badminton, pickleball, and community events.
The development is envisioned as a fully integrated sports and lifestyle hub featuring: a state-of-the-art weights facility, a recovery center operated by Flex Recovery, an on-site barbershop, a sports merchandise store, and a premium sports bar for athletes and fans.
Strategically located within The Pad Co-Living complex along Banilad Road, the facility is just minutes from Cebu IT Park and Cebu Business Park, providing strong accessibility to residents, professionals, and the wider Cebu community.
The venture combines GV Sports Facilities’ experience in hosting professional team practices and national tournaments with CLI’s established presence across the Visayas and Mindanao. (James A. Loyola)
