BACOLOD CITY – This city has extended assistance to 71 families or 179 residents displaced by a fire in Purok Magnolia, Barangay 7 here on Tuesday, May 12.
The Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) provided water tanks, warm meals, drinking water, folding beds, pillows, and hygiene kits to victims temporarily staying at Andres Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES) 2 Senior High Building.
Mayor Greg Gasataya said they have started processing additional assistance for affected families. “The city is with you in this difficult time,” he added.
The fire due to an electrical ignition caused by arcing destroyed 26 houses. Two individuals were injured.
