'Salamat, sir': Bato thanks Remulla for advance info on ICC warrant

After his return from a months-long absence, Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa on Tuesday, May 12, expressed his gratitude to Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla for providing him with advance information regarding the arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).

In an interview, Dela Rosa was asked if he had prior knowledge of the ICC arrest warrant since November 2025.
He stated that he was only relying on public pronouncements and thanked Remulla, who was the one who announced the presence of an ICC warrant before Dela Rosa went on a six-month absence.
"Pasalamat ako sa'yo, sir. Salamat at nabigyan mo ako ng advance info na mayroon akong warrant (I’m thankful to you, sir. Thank you for giving me advance information that I have a warrant). Thank you, he said.
Because of this, Dela Rosa said that he was able to enjoy six months and do bible study.
Dela Rosa made a surprise return during Monday's plenary session, just in time for the change in leadership with Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano replacing Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III.
