The Parañaque City government announced that a quarterly utility consultation day for consumer complaints will be conducted following the approval of a city ordinance.
According to Mayor Edwin Olivarez, City Ordinance No. 2026-10, Series of 2025, titled “An Ordinance Institutionalizing a Quarterly Consultation Day,” aims to provide consumers and homeowners’ associations with a venue to raise concerns regarding electricity, water, and other public utility services.
Olivarez said the consultation day will be held every first quarter in March, second quarter in June, third quarter in September, and fourth quarter in December.
He added that representatives from the Manila Electric Company, Maynilad Water Services, PLDT, Converge ICT Solutions, Sky Cable Corporation, and other telecommunications and internet service providers will participate in the consultation.
The offices involved in the consultation day include the City Engineering Office, City Legal Office, City Administrator’s Office, Urban Mission and Development Office, External and Homeowners Association’s Office, Public Information Office, and the MWSS Regulatory Office, when necessary.
The mayor said consumers frequently encounter recurring issues involving electricity, water, sewerage, telecommunications, and other utility services, which require regular dialogue, collaborative problem-solving, and transparent coordination.
