CEBU CITY – A man and his son were killed in a knife attack in Barangay Inayagan, Naga City, Cebu.
Killed in the incident on Sunday, May 10, were Conrado, 59, and Dominic, 21. Conrado’s 49-year-old wife Edna survived the attack.
Police said the 28-year-old suspect, a certain Albert, is a friend of the couple’s other son, John Carlo.
Investigation showed that Albert and John Carlo were together in a disco as part of the barangay’s fiesta celebration.
Police said they had a drinking session. While drinking, Albert asked John Carlo to dance. John Carlo stayed put and refused.
This drew the ire of Albert who confronted John Carlo. The argument escalated into a fistfight. The disco was stopped because of the trouble.
Police said Albert went home and proceeded to the house of the victims. John Carlo was not around when the suspect arrived.
Albert engaged the couple and their son in a heated altercation where the suspect drew a knife and stabbed the victims.
The suspect fled and was arrested in the house of his brother in Barangay Linao, Talisay City, Cebu. The knife used in the attack was recovered.
Two counts of murder and frustrated murder will be filed against the suspect.
