BACOLOD CITY – Bago City in Negros Occidental resumed their regular five-day work week, beginning Monday, May 11, and maintained the strict energy conservation protocols in all government offices and operations.
Mayor Marina Javellana-Yao issued on Sunday, May 10, Executive Order (EO) No. 27, Series of 2026, lifting the implementation of the compressed four-day work week.
The mayor said that this move aims to enhance accessibility of services, improve inter-office coordination, and better respond to public demand while sustaining the city’s strict energy conservation protocols.
All covered offices shall report to work from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in accordance with applicable Civil Service Commission (CSC) rules and regulations on the 40-hour work week exclusive of lunch break.
The order stated that lifting pertains only to the work schedule arrangement under EO No. 13, Series of 2026, which adopted and implemented strict energy conservation protocols in all city government offices and operations and implemented a compressed four-day work week effective March 16.
“It does not repeal or weaken the energy conservation protocols and fuel austerity measures thereunder, which shall remain in full force and effect unless subsequently amended or revoked,” it added.
Bago City is the third local government unit in the province that returned to a regular working schedule after Toboso and Silay City.
