Two separate buy-bust operations in Rizal led to the arrest of five individuals, including a high-value suspect, and the confiscation of P877,676 worth of shabu and a handgun.

Both operations were conducted on May 9, including one at around 2:45 a.m. in Rodriguez that yielded 33 grams of suspected shabu worth P224,400 from four suspects.
Personnel of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) also confiscated from one suspect a 9mm caliber handgun with a magazine and five live rounds of ammunition, along with various identification cards, two sling bags, and a coin purse.

Meanwhile, an evening operation in Binangonan arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and confiscated about 96.07 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P653,276.
All arrested suspects are temporarily detained at the custodial facilities of their respective police stations and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Rizal PPO Director Col. Eleazar Barber said the operations reflect the intensified campaign against illegal drugs. He also assured that police operations will continue in Rizal to maintain peace and order and hold those involved in illegal activities accountable.
Authorities also urged the public to cooperate and promptly report any information on illegal activities in their communities as part of efforts to promote a safe and peaceful province.
