The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct an investigation into all the complaints of human rights abuses and extra-judicial killings during conduct of drug war under the time of Sen. Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa as police commander.
DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said they expect a subpoena to be issued against Dela Rosa on Monday, May 11, for him to appear before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) which will lead the probe.
And Remulla said the investigation will also cover the time when Dela Rosa was the head of the chief of police of Davao City where the concept of bloody drug allegedly started up to the time when he became chief implementer of the drug war when he became the top police official of the land.
“I am giving my orders to General (Jose Melencio) Nartatez to resume the investigation regarding his previous actions as City of Director of Davao and regional director of Davao Region,” said Remulla.
For his part, Nartatez said the report of the Quad-Committee of the House of Representatives will serve as the basis of the probe, as well as other reports and complaints of extra-judicial killings and other abuses.
“The Philippine National Police, thorugh the CIDG wil be giving summons to identified personalities,” said Nartatez.
