Eligible transport network vehicle service (TNVS) drivers and motorcycle taxi riders in Metro Manila are reminded to strictly follow their assigned schedules and venues for the government’s cash aid distribution starting Monday, May 11, as authorities enforce a “no walk-ins” policy to avoid congestion and delays.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will conduct a special payout from May 11 to 15 for qualified drivers and riders from Grab and Move It who have yet to receive the ₱5,000 cash relief assistance under the government’s transport support program.
DSWD Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Irene Dumlao said the department continues to work closely with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and transport network companies to ensure an orderly distribution of assistance amid the impact of fuel price increases.
DSWD will act as the paymaster, while participating transport network companies will handle logistical support such as venue coordination and scheduling of beneficiaries.
“Ang DSWD po ang mangangasiwa sa payout ng cash assistance habang ang mga TNCs naman ang tutulong sa logistical support gaya ng venue arrangements at pag-aayos ng payout schedules ng kanilang drivers at riders (The DSWD will manage the payout of cash assistance, while the TNCs will provide logistical support such as venue arrangements and organizing the payout schedules of their drivers and riders),” Dumlao said.
Among the confirmed payout sites are Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, SM Aura in Taguig City, and FilOil in San Juan City.
Additional schedules and venues will be announced for other beneficiaries, including delivery riders and drivers outside initial batches.
No schedule, no claiming of assistance
According to Dumlao, beneficiaries will receive individual instructions from their respective transport network companies regarding their assigned date, time, and venue.
“Mahigpit nating pinapaalalahanan ang mga benepisyaryo na sundin lamang ang kanilang assigned schedule at venue upang maiwasan ang abala We strongly remind beneficiaries to strictly follow their assigned schedule and venue to avoid inconvenience),” she said.
She added that only those with confirmed schedules will be accommodated.
“No schedule, no claiming [of assistance]. Bawal ang walk-in (Walk-ins are not allowed,” she said.
To claim the assistance, beneficiaries must present their original driver’s license and at least one photocopy.
They are also advised to bring official notifications from their driver app or SMS from their transport network company.
Grab and Move It have already released initial payout schedules for their drivers and riders, while other transport network companies are expected to announce separate arrangements in the coming days.
The DSWD also urged beneficiaries who do not find their names on the current list to wait for further announcements, saying that some may be included in later batches or assigned outside Metro Manila.
Drivers and riders are advised to regularly check official updates from their respective companies’ websites and social media pages.
The cash assistance is part of the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, in line with the government’s Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food and Transport (UPLIFT) strategy aimed at supporting transport workers affected by rising fuel costs.
