Ancajas takes on undefeated American in debut with Zuffa Boxing

Jerwin Ancajas is making his debut under Zuffa Boxing when he takes on Omar Trinidad at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on June 26.

Coming off a rousing featherweight debut when he forced Ruben Tostado Garcia to quit on his stool just last month, Ancajas is figuring in another thrilling match this time against undefeated American.

The bout will be Ancajas’ first fight since joining fellow Filipino Mark Magsayo in the emerging Zuffa Boxing.

Ancajas, who held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super bantamweight crown in the past, is looking to make a steady rise in the featherweight rankings and earn a shot at another world title.

The 34-year-old Filipino is packing a 38-4-2 record.

Trinidad, however, hasn’t tasted defeat through 23 bouts with his 20-0-2 card and is younger by four years at 30.
