Some residents expressed frustration, saying the water interruption caused significant inconvenience, especially amid the current hot weather. They also added that some areas have reportedly had no water supply since yesterday.
Some of them also commented on the announcement, with remarks including the following:
“Pakibilisan po serbisyo nyo at napaka-init ng panahon (Please speed up your service as the weather is very hot).”
“Mag-rasyon naman kayo ng tubig! Wala na nga kayong maayos na abiso, inextend nyo pa tapos wala pa kayo rasyon (Please distribute water. There was no proper notice, and the interruption was extended without water rationing).”
“Wala na nga kayong abiso inextend nyo pa. Kaloka kayo. Simula kahapon hanggang ngayon walang tubig. Nakakaperwisyo kayo (You did not even provide prior notice, yet you extended it. This is frustrating. There has been no water since yesterday until today. This is very inconvenient).”
“Manila Water, I hope you understand people's frustrations. Hindi madali mawalan ng tubig especially sa tindi ng init ngayon (It is not easy to have no water, especially with the intense heat these days). Water is a primary source same as electricity. Your early advice is a big help for us para makapag-ipon muna kami ng tubig, and yet puro naman delayed advices ang ginagawa ninyo (Your earlier advice was a big help for us to prepare and store water, but your updates have mostly been delayed).”
Manila Water issued an apology, saying the situation was unexpected and that its team is working to restore normal water pressure in the affected areas as soon as possible.
It added that water tankers have also been deployed to temporarily distribute water. Residents were advised to stay tuned for further updates and thanked for their understanding.
