Lisa joins star-studded lineup for FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in LA
K-pop star Lisa of BLACKPINK is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Los Angeles, organizers announced.
For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, three separate opening ceremonies will be staged across the host countries. Celebrations will begin on June 11 in Mexico City, followed by ceremonies in Toronto and Los Angeles on June 12.
Lisa’s agency, LLOUD, confirmed the news on May 9.
“Happy to announce that LISA will be part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony, the first largest FIFA World Cup in history,” the agency said in a statement.
Joining Lisa in the Los Angeles ceremony are global music stars Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Rema, and Tyla. Organizers said more performers will be announced in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the Mexico City ceremony will feature performances by Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules and Maná.
In Canada, the lineup includes Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé and Nora Fatehi, among others.
The Los Angeles opening ceremony will take place at the Los Angeles Stadium and is scheduled to begin 90 minutes before kick-off on June 12. Stadium gates will open to fans four hours before the opening match between the United States and Paraguay.
According to FIFA, the ceremony is being produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio.
“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” said Gianni Infantino.
“The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will feature 104 matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
