1 dead, 4 hurt in military truck crash

One soldier was killed and four others were injured when a military truck crashed on the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway in Barangay Caramutan, Villasis, Pangasinan on Friday afternoon, May 8.
Police said the truck with license plates SAB-2115 driven by a 31-year-old soldier was traversing the expressway on their way back to camp in Tarlac from the Balikatan military exercises when one of its tires suddenly burst.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and plunged into an expressway embankment where it rolled several times.
One soldier died on the spot. His  four colleagues were taken to nearby hospitals where they are recuperating.
Amount of damage to the truck is yet to be determined.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
