CANDELARIA, Quezon – Police arrested a physical therapist and three companions for illegal practice of medicine and swindling in Sitio Wisak, Barangay Bukal Sur, this town, on Thursday afternoon, May 7.
Police identified the suspects as Jhon, 29, physical therapist, and companions Vanessa, 20; Ryan, 35, and Jayson, 40.
Investigation said Jhon introduced himself as a doctor and circumcised four minors. Jhon also introduced himself as the president of Quezon 1 Physical Therapy Charity Program, AaZ Center, and collected membership fees from Lyzle, 34; Rubilynn, 20; Ronelyn, 28; Rodolfo, 68, and Rodelo, 57, totaling P108,880 with the help of his companions.
The five victims realized they were scammed and sought police assistance. Lawmen conducted verification and an operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
The suspects are in the custody of the Candelaria police and face charges for violating Republic Act 2382 or the Medical Act of 1959, and swindling.
Meanwhile, police arrested three rape suspects in the Calabarzon region on May 6. The Police Regional Office 4-A identified the suspects as Nandy, 44; Paeng, 23, and Ronie, 38.
Also apprehended were wanted persons in the region – Eco, an alleged member of a gun-for-hire group and drug pusher, and Habibi, a 37-year-old Pakistani businessman for illegal recruitment.
Eco was arrested on May 4 in Angeles City, Pampanga for murdering two men in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on May 19, 2021. Habibi was nabbed on May 2 in Baguio City.
Police Regional Office 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan commended apprehending units for the arrest of the suspects.
Marantan assured victims that justice will be achieved, as long as they do not give up and continue to cooperate with the police by immediately providing any information they can gather.
