The Quezon City government will deploy eight brand-new electric buses on QCity Bus Route 6 starting May 11 as part of its efforts to modernize public transport and support environmental protection initiatives in the city.
Operations along Route 6 will remain unchanged, with buses running between Quezon City Hall and Gilmore via Tomas Morato, following the usual stops and schedules.
Designed as low-floor units, the electric buses are expected to provide easier boarding and alighting for passengers, improving accessibility and overall commuter convenience.
Each bus can accommodate 41 seated passengers, with limited standing capacity implemented to ensure safety and comfort during trips.
Personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) will oversee daily operations to ensure the smooth rollout and continued service of the electric buses along the route.
The initiative is part of the city government’s efforts to reduce pollution and gradually shift toward cleaner, electric-powered public transport.
Passengers are encouraged to present their QC ID when boarding Route 6.
Data gathered from commuters will be used by the city government to further improve transport planning and enhance public mobility services.
