Motorists are advised to expect traffic slowdown and road restrictions around the Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City on May 17, as the local government implements partial road closures and one-side parking arrangements for the National Age Group Aquathlon 2026.
The event is a multi-sport endurance competition combining running and swimming events for participating athletes across different age categories.
Quezon City will implement traffic measures from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in streets surrounding the Amoranto Sports Complex to give way to the sporting event.
Under the traffic plan, Don A. Roces Avenue eastbound (South AA to Scout Santiago), South AA (Scout Chuatoco to Don A. Roces Avenue), and Scout Reyes (Scout Chuatoco to Don A. Roces Avenue) will be closed to vehicles during the stated period.
Motorists bound for Quezon Avenue westbound are advised to take Scout Tobias or Scout Chuatoco Avenue, while those heading toward Tomas Morato may use Scout Chuatoco Avenue or Scout Lozano as alternative routes.
From 3:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., one-side parking will also be enforced along Don A. Roces Avenue westbound (South AA to Scout Santiago), Scout Chuatoco Avenue (South AA to Scout Santiago), and Scout Reyes (Scout Chuatoco to Don A. Roces Avenue).
Personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) and the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) will be deployed in the area to manage traffic flow and assist motorists.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips ahead and take alternate routes during the event period.
