Looking for stylish shoes you can wear all day? Sunday Staples lands in Manila
From workdays to weekends, these are designed to move with you
We all dream of shoes that can work with almost any outfit and carry us through long days. They are not always the most statement-making pair, but they are the ones we keep by the door. This is what Singapore’s Sunday Staples shoes are aiming to be.
And they finally made their way to the Philippines. Launched last April 22 at Power Plant Mall, the brand welcomed guests to discover stylish, everyday footwear that can take them from day to night.

In an exclusive interview with its founder, Cherri Wong, she shares the reason behind the name. “We believe your footwear should be as comfortable and easy as a Sunday morning, while being ‘staples’ you keep reaching for in your wardrobe from Monday to Sunday,” she explains. “Born in sunny Singapore, the brand is designed to ensure women always look polished and feel comfortable without ever having to miss a beat.”
That balance is what defines the brand. There is no single “hero” piece, but a variety of silhouettes to choose from, such as ballet flats softened with padding, sandals that hold their shape, and textures designed to withstand humidity and long days out.
“Sunday Staples actually began as my own humble home project in Singapore before blossoming into a fashion favorite across Southeast Asia,” Cherri muses. “We decided to bring the brand to the Philippines because we identified a real gap in the local market for footwear that delivers both high-fashion aesthetics and genuine comfort. We wanted to bring a solution to Filipino women who were tired of choosing between style and comfort, especially for pairs that can handle the specific needs of the Philippine climate and lifestyle.”

With our tropical climate and busy schedules, the materials play an equally important role. Each pair incorporates elements that work with this lifestyle, such as microfibre leather, waterproof satin, and lightweight fabrics designed to keep up.
“We are best recognized for our signature Cloud Series, which features ultra-soft, bouncy padding designed for all-day wear while maintaining a slim, elegant silhouette,” she says. “Crucially for the Philippine climate, we incorporate innovative, high-quality materials like microfibre leather—a durable vegan alternative—along with newly introduced waterproof linen, satin, and suede that elegantly retain their look despite humidity and weather. Our designs are also thoughtfully adapted for Asian feet, featuring soft leather straps, Flyknit uppers, and added heel padding in ballet flats.”

Complementary bags are also available, from totes to east-west bags. All of its designs come in neutrals, making them easy to pair with.
“I imagine the modern, style-conscious woman who values her time and wellbeing. She is someone who refuses to compromise on feeling good to look good,” Cherri says.
While we started as a small project, our community has grown to include over 200,000 women who appreciate our ‘girl-next-door’ charm and wearable style. This image has evolved into a vibrant, global community of women who step confidently and stylishly into every moment of their lives.”
